Everquest on Steam

You should be able to go to the EQ live website, create and account, and download/ patch EQ live. Then take SoD patch and patch over the files in that folder. As far as I've been told it works, no need to buy EQ to play SoD anymore.

Not sure if the steam version would work, since in order to play most steam games you need to launch from the application. Could give it a shot though.

(also some steps in the live DL/ patching may be wrong. I use titanium disks personally)

When my computer died, I ended up buying a Steam version of EQ. It works fine even though it's not a titanium version. You just have to dig through the Steam directories to direct the SoD Patcher to the executable.

Once you link to the steam directories a couple of times you get used to the long tree. It's like a treasure hunt getting all the way into a game the first couple of times.

Thanks, nice to know; I tended to use my parents old copies of Everquest to install, pretty much the same as install titanium, but with more disks. This make it easy to install without having to borrow the disks.

You'll probably want to right click on the game in Steam and set it to not apply updates to EQ, otherwise next time they push a patch, you will have to fully repatch SoD again.
