Ethereal Warding Symbol of the Infini

I've always wondered why this neck from Very Difficult maps has bard and beastlord on it, and those 2 classes are absent from the melee version (the Corporeal Warding Symbol). I can sort of understand bard, as the caster neck has 10 charisma on it, but beastlords seem out of place on that neck and get shafted on a neck slot much better suited to their class.

I've wondered this myself. Some items make me :psyduck:.

5% spell ward is very nice for a beastlord or a bard.

It's nice, but it still seems like an oversight when they're just left off of the clearly melee-oriented version.

We've had a few of these come down over the last few day, and I'm still curious as to why the classes are as they are. Would any of the staff like to toss in a few words?

I think bards and beastlords should be kept on the "caster" version. If I had this neck, there are some fights I would definitely use it on Felyn. Spell ward is stupid good for bards and beastlords, and we really have no access to it otherwise. Couple that with the amazing saves on that neck, and you have yourself a nice situational piece.

For someone who advocates balance across the board, it's surprising you're in support of an item that you readily admit you would use situationally at the very top end of the game. To people of the intended tier, this item is much more functional as an across the board (non-situational) upgrade, and it's pretty clear to me that it's some sort of oversight given the classes on both necks. As a heads up, I'm aware that there are items that serve as situational items throughout the tiers, that's not really my point. I just don't see the intent of BRD/BST being on this neck as being something to use situationally through the tiers when other classes are gaining very different attributes from it. I'd still be interested to hear what the staff has to say.
