Escape to Norrath Question

Hello,

I use to play SoD a long time ago. I am looking to start playing again and my EQ1 CD's seem to be unoperational... I was wondering if I can download the escape to norrath client to play on SoD?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, I did some searching and couldn't find much.

Just incase anyone was wondering, you can download the Escape to Norrath client, and after it is done patching, you can run "the Game.exe" <-- (I guess there is a script to change the text when you type in the name of the game) instead of the "EscapeToNorrath.exe" and it is the normal game. Now I am running into the problem of requiring a valid username/password in order to patch the game, I guess they have changed that. :mad:
 
Careful about being too specific about where you obtain the client online; although there are multiple free and legitimate places to get it (as you have clearly discovered), sharing information about where to obtain the client on this forum is a no-no handed down from on high.

That said, you do now need a station login and password to patch with the new (launchpad? is that what it's called?) additions, however this in itself does not cost anything. Make yourself a free account, use that to log in, and you should be good to go. Just be sure to get all of the expansions you need.

I checked that method out the other day because someone in-game said they couldn't get it to work. Now you need a Active and Paid subscription to patch. It automatically sends you the files for whatever expansions you have, you can't choose.

However, according to Wiz, Dalaya works just fine without needing to patch the zone files if you install with the Platinum disks. Just install, run SoD patcher, Play.
 
Thanks, I appreciate the heads up on that. Not trying to start any trouble at all.

I figured out what was wrong with my titanium discs, I had to install a update for InstallShield 7.0. If anyone ever has this issue just message me and I can help them on what I did.

So I won't be able to patch at all, but I will just patch using the SoD Patcher, and see how that goes. I'll let everyone know.

Just for informational purposes, you can install the game from the titanium CD (assuming platinum also) and then patch using the SoD patcher and it seems to work just fine wihout patching LIVE first. I haven't ran around to every zone or anything, but so far so good.
