Erudin Ranger Newbie Quest (Titanic Snake)

I've been having a heck of a time finding the "titanic snake" for the quest given by Varsh the Tracker in Erudin. I've leveled from 1 - 13 almost entirely in Mistwoods, gotten my tracking skill up to 70, and clicked it constantly all over the zone. It's possible that it's just stuck in some nook or cranny that I didn't get close enough to at my skill, but seems more likely that it's uber-rare or bugged. In the meantime I've done the newbie quests for Rogues, Druids, Warriors (some of it), Shaman, and Bards, but of course can't use the rewards (though the xp is decent). If someone could check into the spawn rate of the snake (I've heard it called Emerald Maw), and let me know if it's "Working as Intended" (sorry, couldn't resist), bugged, or if I'm just doing something wrong. It would be nice to finish my own class's quest. :)

I have tried numerous time to give the snake the pouch and he says he has no use for it. I tried handing it back to trainer and still no go. So either its not working or i not doin it right either. Although i havent tried in 3-4 weeks as i gave up on that quest.
 
its a week spawn and is usually killed shortly after spawning thats why you prob wont see it up much (if ever)
 
Thanks for the replies. Well I managed to get both epics and an Eyepatch of Plunder on live, so I suppose I'll manage... eventually :p
