Error! String 1510 not found?

Hello all! After a recent file downloaded via the patcher (eqstr_us.txt) the game ceases to work, telling me (ERROR: String not found. [1510])

Anyone else getting this problem?
 
After this patch, my game loads fine--but I have a 1534 error message replacing nearly all text, including character class name at character select(Rykke--64(ERRORblahblahblah)(1534), MOTD, guild MOTD...
 
Yeah, I'm getting the same problem, except I can log in, but all chat messages are "String not found. [# for message type]" along with class names and AA titles. Happened about 10ish minutes ago for me. Trying to con something causes the client to crash, hailing doesn't, /who doesn't crash but gets missing strings for classes and level #s. Those were the only things I messed with before crashing.

Edit: after another patch, getting stuck "Patching: thedeep_chr.txt"

aww man the EQ sky is falling. i gaurentee someone forgot a semicolon somewhere before the update // hate programming.

EDIT == funny how the errors bring out people who have aged' join dates but newbious post counts.

Chances are you never got the new file, or you have a blank file now. Find the eqstr_us.txt and files.txt and delete them, then from the patcher click advanced, repatch all, patch and run.

Thanks for the advice, however the problem persists. Still stalling on thedeep_chr.txt

I apologize for making you give the same fix instructions as you did to a previous poster some time ago who experienced 'missing string' errors. I did search first before posting. :)

In any case, my patcher is still hanging at 'thedeep_chr.txt' (and that file seems to be missing from my game directory) and this is all very strange since I was playing all day today and things just went haywire when I logged on again tonight and the patcher grabbed that rogue eqstr_us.txt file.
 
Ikaa's fix does work. I was having the same problem but just go into your EQ folder once you're all patched as far as you can go and use EQ.exe or EQW program in the ********* folder. It seems like it would be a temporary fix, but it got me back in, at least.

Thanks much, Ikaa. I was starting to claw at myself from SoD withdrawal.
 
It is a temp fix. Half a patch went in, then was reversed, etc etc etc.

Itll all fix itself tonight (i think), till then, as long as you have the latest eqstr, skip the patcher.

I most definately accidentally ran the wrong patcher a while back and can't use EQgame.exe, and theres no app for EQW. I'm done for.
