Error occuring while trying to run the SoD patcher

I have windows vista, an amd dual core 64 processor.

I've downloaded all the requirements (.NET, sod patcher, map pack and installed EQ up to planes of power) but every time i run the patcher, this comes up.

"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x49c (1180), Thread id=0xeb0 (3760)"

and it won't continue. I've tried running it with administrator setting, xp, 98/95/me/2003 and it never works.

And I tried downloading the driver for my processors but i cant find a program to open it properly.

Help is much appreciated, thanks.
 
This is the error you'd get if the loader was unable to load the first library for .net. In other words it sounds like you don't have .net installed.
 
Just checked into this some. Because the patcher is compiled with .net 1.1 it will try to run in WOW64 (the 32bit compatibility layer) - because of this you'll need to make sure you have a 32bit version of the .net framework installed.
