Error 1017

Says I need to re-patch. But I log out and run the SoD patcher and it doesn't download anything, and I still can't get past server select. What am I missing? :?

Patch to Live, then patch SoD.

I had already done that, but I tried it again just in case. Still having the same problem. I have everything up through OoW installed and I've downloaded everything the live patcher wants me to. Then I patched SoD.. meh.

Your eqhost.txt file should look like this:

I sometimes get the 1017 error myself. I can usually just try to reconnect and everything goes well. Other times, I have to reboot my pc. Seems to be a mixup in my DNS that forces the reboot. On an even rarer occasion, I have had to wait for DNS updates to trickle down to my ISP which usually takes 10-15 mins or so.

Still not working. I patch live, then hit patch and run on the SoD patcher.. and it doesn't patch anything. So I do a re-patch thing, it downloads a bunch of stuff, and then I can get back to server select, but it still says I need to patch. Aaaah.

I even just started the whole process over again. Downloaded the patcher fresh, unzipped it to a folder called SoD. Patched EQ and all the expansions recommended/required in the instructions. Then I told SoD where my EQ folder was and it patched... and still the same problem. Really at a loss for what's wrong. I've followed all the instructions to a T. =\

I'm having the same problem. Happens to me at the server select screen, when I try to press the play button. Says I need to repatch, that it can't connect, and the server may be having problems. But on the main page it says the server is fine.
