error 1017

hi, was having problems w/ live patched and then trying to use this patcher kept saying error 1017 when i hit play as if it should direct me to character creation , so i scrapped it, installed fresh titanium then patched go to hit play, boom, error 1017, never had connection issues on emu/live so just wondering if there is something to correct it , i followed the guide and everything so it should be working but isnt=/

Turn off bit torrent or other software that might be hogging your connection. This is just a generic time-out error which indicates that you have some type of problem connecting the the SoD server (even though you never had a problem with live servers or w/e).
