Error 1001 cannot connect to server

Okay... I'm finally past my patcher problems but now whenever I try to connect I get the message Error 1001 cannot connect to server and everything starts to run more slowly until I alt+F4 the screen. Anyone know how to fix it or can link me to another thread telling me how to fix it? I ran a search in the forums but couldn't figure anything out.
 
Okay, can ANYONE give me any advice on this? Is it because my laptop is a piece of shit? Is it because the server is overloaded? Is it because I did something wrong? Is it because I have the wrong information in the EQhost file? Well I'm not really being ignored anymore but nobody seems to have an idea about the problem... any advice would be appreciated. I've tried running it through eqw with absolutely no luck....
 
when do you get the error? Is it when you click OK from the EQW window? If so, uncheck everything at the bottom... I had a smilar error, but when i unchecked everthing but 'fix ini file' at the bottom of the EQW window, everything worked fine.
