Enforcer Husrag in Sunbane quest.

Hello, am suggesting a change to the beggining of the sunbane quest with the enforcer.

It seems many people talked to hsargh when they were very low lvl, and were suprised by a bag in their hand when they never asked for one. A good deal deleted it, either because they had no room for it in their inventory or because they never wanted to start the quest at that point. For clarity, this is how the text works to start the quest.

The moment you hail him, he responds like this-

Hail, Woldaff! I am Enforcer Husrag, head of the law of the stormhammers, as well as the keeper of the scale bounty. I also oversee the battle against the scale alliance

[What is this bounty you speak of?]
[Who is a part of this alliance you battle?"

The MOMENT you ask him "Who is a part of this alliance you battle" he gives you the no drop lore container, without telling or hinting that its coming, and without even telling you what items he needs you to collect it in. The response you get from this part is-

In the lucid valleys of the faentharc. on the peaks of the gold coast, along the snowy brinks of the Western Wastelands, our ancient enemy resides. The scale alliance, Fae and Dragon, they are our fiercest foes, our most cunning opponents. I seek your help in this battle, as you have helped us in others. Bring me a collection of items from our foes, and combine them in this satchel.

[What items do you require?]

He gives you the satchel after you ask him a generic question about who the giants battle. Once you get that script from him, you can NEVER get it again. This has blocked 5 people to my knowledge, and a few others who dont even remember getting the satchel (including myself) suspect that this is why they can not continue the quest. A lot of people had no choice but to delete the satchel because they didnt see it coming and had a full bag inventory. Its one thing to not reimburse an important quest peice in the middle of a quest when its well understood what its for. Its another thing, imho, to make a quest undoable because someone hailed the guy 30 lvls ago and decided that he was too low lvl to do the quest, or that he didnt know what it was for and would research it a bit.

My suggestion is to either make the satchel gettible after the first time, to make it droppable, or to make it so he only hands you the satchel after you ask him what items he wants. I am beyond depressed that after hours of work, and a full guild raid, I am stuck on this quest because of something that i dont remember doing at lvl 30 after hunting in faentharc.

Thank you much for reading, and im sorry if i came off as an ass, just really passionate after spending so much time on something to be cut off. Not to mention forcing my poor guild to raid for one of the peices.

I got screwed over by the bag part too, had full inventory slots and had to delete the bag, went and cleared room, came back and he wouldn't give the bag back.

If anything is going to be changed, I'd suggest the Enforcer only gives bags to people who have been flagged from the first badge quest (Vazan), so people don't get fucked over by something that isn't their fault at all.

I would also love to see this changed. I know I deleted the bag on one character or another when wandering around exploring the zone for the first time looking to see what quests there were. I didn't expect a bag, and figured he'd just give me another one (back before I knew there were quests that were not repeatable), so destroyed it. This was long before the "Policy on lost quest items" was announced.

Any staff opinion on this? I understand the policy to not return items if you deleted them on accident, but i think the frequency that this happens at least warrants someone looking into it.

Thank you in advance.

This seems like a very fair request. Simply asking an NPC "Who is a part of this alliance you battle" shouldn't put a player into the position where he either deletes one of the 8 bags he's carrying atm (and I think it's a fair asumption that many people walk around with all 8 inventory slots filled with bags) or misses out on a great quest. There is nothing at that point of the conversation that would lead anybody to believe they were about to receive such an item. I understand the policy on quest item reimbursement, but I think that this part of the sunbane quest falls outside of those limits. Hope the devs will look into altering it and reimbursing those who unknowingly ruined their chance at the quest.

Seems like a legit request. Such a good quest and nice reward. Cant imagine something as prone to problems as this is not being fixed up a bit. In fact I think it would be totally fair to allow someone to get the bag again if the person doesnt currently possess it or, at the very least, allow those who made this mistake to receive the quest item after its fixed.

Just as a side note on the sunbane quest and npcs.. I wondered if some of the quest npcs that are lacking quest npc placeholders (for when they are killed) can be added. The High Priest Coralsha for instance is the final person I needed to speak to for my sunbane bracer but its systematically killed on a weekly basis leaving few opportunities to speak to him.

I did the same thing awhile back in the quest section...

About a month ago i had gotten ally with the giants and was told Enforcer husraq was the person to see to get a gate neck. So i go find him and he gives me two options, i didn't know which to pick so i picked the second one and followed it till he gave me a bag. Now i had full bag slots for some reason, i didnt know what the bag was for, and i figured what ever it was i could just restart it if i decided i needed to do whatever it was for later. So i get my gate neck and forget about it. Now as i try to do the bracelet of sunbane quest he wont restart the quest. I was just wondering if this is intentional or not? if it is intentional i know im screwed but id like to make sure. Because i dont see the point in making it so you cant restart a quest you havent finished from scratch, im pretty sure you can for other quests, why not this one.

Found a few more with the same problem. Any staff opinion? Not asking for any immediate action ) just am biting at the bit to not bump this every day hehe.

Also replying to this since I too destroyed my bag at an early level. Would love to see this changed.

would be very nice from the SoD staff team if it could be fixed <3.
Thanks.
mine isnot bugged , but i take care of my halfling friends :p

Saw that Xeldan is kinda sorta back =) curious if he has any opinion on the matter. Thanks in advance!

Although I am already well past this point in the Sunbane quest, I too feel the way quest flagging is done in some regards hinders the type of exploration that drives rpgs. With a finite bank space we can hardly be expected to try and save every item that has no immediatly obvious purpose on the off chance we may need it thirty levels later for a quest. I fully understand the desire to have consequences for ones actions to promote realism but the current system can permanently halt the progression of a quest someone may have spent many hours working on and as such adversely effect peoples desire to engage in questing to begin with. With all the effort the staff have put into creating and maintaining quests it would be a shame for people to not want to bother trying due to the inherent risk of it being undoable due to some seemingly inconsequential action undertaken many levels before.

Simple fix for stuff like this is to just make the item lore (in this case the bag) and for quest items to be reissused. Just because you start, or ever finish, a quest, why not be able to still receive the items to do it again? If the reward is lore you couldnt get it again anyway. I mean, realistically what would it hurt for Husrag to give out bags to people again if he is going to have the task accomplished?
