Enchanter: Shapeshift + Illusion items

Can the illusion item not overwrite shapeshift? I have http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Faces_of_the_Violators which overwrites my illusion.

Think the way it works is:

Race < Illusion < Worn Illusion
However, reapplying your illusion should overwrite the Iksar (example: You wear Iksar illusion item, and cast Woodelf Illusion shoulders from Elds. It will overwrite the worn illusion, until you zone/ die/ etc.. This is assuming you are not an Enchanter)

It has to overwrite shapeshift, I think it might be a client limitation. Worn illusions reapply every tic iirc, and since shapeshift isn't an actual buff, the worn illusion overwrites the shapeshift
