Enchanter AA idea

I was thinking that since enchanters are masters of illusion, it would be fun to give them a Decoy AA. This would be a summoned lookalike of the enchanter that is invulnerable and cannot attack, but is very adept at diverting aggro away from the real Slim Shady for 15-30 seconds so he/she can escape. ;)

Basically enchanter feign death with a funny twist and moderate-heavy cooldown period.

Comments? Suggestions?

*invulnerable

On Live, the AA ability was called Doppelganger and the chanters loved it. I think it summoned 3 clones when it was maxed.

greater trance is passive and can't be used for a triggered AA. The only idea i could give you would be to make your idea into one that is a very very very low 'passive' chance for this to trigger when you are being meleed.

Guarding rune is too good to lose, period.

Recall minion is shared by other classes, so no.

This is of course only my opinion since no one likes giving Yally !! TEH POWER !!

What would be the roleplaying logic behind rogues having summoned illusions? :brow:

Ah, more the concept of dopplegangers.

Rogues seem slightly more akin to ninjas than chanters to, imo.

It would be awesome like the scene in Conan the Destroyer where he has to fight the mirror monster.

how about dire charm? lots of complaint that its next to utterly useless and its a triggered ability

You'd end up giving druids and necro's both this ability.
Not very inline with chanter illusion thinking.

Not the case - the druid, necro, and enchanter version of dire charm are all seperate abilities. So they can be changed independantly of one another.

They have the same AA number (ID). I don't know, but I always just assumed the difference was done serverside.

I vote dire charm. It's a shitstain of an AA anyway.

True, but summoning a doppelganger would be a different spell anyway--the game doesn't care if the spells are related. DC for druids could make water, for necros could be a snare, and for enchanters could be doppelganger. I'm uncertain whether you could change the name, however.

edit--A more neutral name like "Spell of the Master" or somesuch could be used, but what name exactly that would be depends on what dru and nec DC would end up as.

although wiz stated before that he doesnt intend to change DC so i doubt he'd change it for enc. and leave the even less uesful versions for dru/nec

Yeah, I'm just sniffing around enc AAs because a lot of ours aren't good. You usually start down the LR5 road sometime around 50-60 depending on your individual tastes.

Why couldn't the doppleganger idea be added as an additional spell, rather than an AA? It could be another relic type spell, or quested, or some other method to make it difficult to attain.

The real question, I think, is can the effect be implemented? Can the client and server handle multiple versions of the same character? Based on the ability to summon pets, illusions, and a recent impromptu "event" in DN where a player was cloned, this sounds very doable to me.

The concept, I think, is extremely cool. Maybe each dupe would have 1K hp and disapear soon as those hp are gone, hopefully long enough for the tank to taunt or the chanter to memblur.
