elemantal barrage into a pet life tap

since elemental barrage is a seldom useful if ever useful, and we have been begging for a heal for a long time, perhaps turning it into a spell essentially drains elements from a mob and uses those drained elements to heal our pet. keeping the general idea of the spell which is amazing and giving mages a pet heal they can crit adn still deal small amounts of damage with necro style. 3 birds 1 boulder.

I do not like this idea there are plenty of useful places for elemental barriage if you dont use it thats your problem, if anything add a hot component to the current heal.

Without going into details of the fight sit is very useful where you cannot rain, or where fire and magic are very highly resisted, it is also a good alternative to relic when you have more mana than the encounter requires due to the higher mana costs you get more braver procs. Also since they are triggered spells similar to procs when certain element types are required this does not count against them.

I do not, have not, and will not ever play a magician, even to summon myself dots. I did stay at a Holiday Inn once though, so feel comfortable offering the following suggestions:

Barrier Ward:
his ability allows you to conjure a protective ward around [all raid] pet, that negates XX% of all spell damage [they] suffer. This protective ward lasts for five minutes.
-The latest patch notes say this type of spell needs to happen.
-Frees up an AA, which could be exciting. Some kind of "Making it Rain" thing that temporarily supercharges rain spell or something totally different, yeah?

Call of the Friend
Summons a random member of FWFs from anywhere and bind them to your will.
-Not sure how the second part would work, maybe less carrot and more stick.

Slightly Larger Dimensional Hole
Summone a TEN slot bag
-woot!!

Big Boy
Increases pet size
-because look how big it is- LOOK AT IT

Too many pet nerfs!
Laments the hardships of pet classes
Camps your character
Automatically brings up the character creation screen with Wizard selected

Unfortunately, Call of the Friend only ends up summoning Cless, who pulls every single mob in the zone that can kill you, to you. Sorry, dude, shoulda went with that last option.

Elemental Barrage is a bad spell that gets rare use for mobs like Gongo in Sanctum because it doesn't trigger their "wrong element of spell that costs mana" scripting due to the actual nukes just being 0 mana triggers off of the original spell.

What mages probably need most (outside of pet HP being AOE-survivable like all pet classes need) is a fast-casting single target nuke of some sort better than Scars of Sigil, a level 54 spell. That and rains working like they did in original EQ where every pulse happens on the mob's current location rather than the original location of the first pulse.

I completely agree with this. Scars of sigil is level 54 and still more useful than elemental barrage manages to be. This or an earlier version of what the artifact spell was supposed to be would both be worthwhile.

I agree with zapple, the 2 things I would like would be a larger big nuke and a new quick nuke as far as spells go.

Necs don't have a pet heal. AOD has no conditional loop barring taking recourses that don't stack.
I'm healing the chanter's pet if I use it. if its even out. I get no benefit at all from spells with huge mana costs, not even just the dps.

So yes, necros would lose it.
