Eldenal's mansion

I was in a four man group in Eldenal's mansion one t5 tank and three other toons all level 65 with some tier 3-5 gear but fairly fresh. Everything was going really good until the first named 'Rildar Elthannar' spawned.

Rildar mezzed/stunned the tank, 2 hitted the first healer, went back to tank, mezzed/stunned him again and killed the second healer, went back to the tank and mezzed/stunned him again, killed the dps and went back to finish off the tank.

Is this zone intended only for t8+ toons or is it supposed to be lower tier 65s?

If this zone is only intended for level 65 with 400 MR or whatever that's fine but it seems the XP needs to be upped and the drops improved if that is the case. The only time I ever see a group in Elds castle is with a huge fricken tank or other huge fricken toon murderinging everything. Again if that is the intention of the zone that's fine I'm either suggesting that it be changed so that lower tiered tanks can go in there or whatever people can tell me what's what.

I guess this is part suggestion and part question.

What I read here is that you got a named spawned that you didn't know what he does, got unlucky on the tank eating the mez/stun (instead of, say, a dps or your 2nd healer) and thus wiped. Not an uncommon thing when it comes to content that is new to you, and I don't think this means the zone is only for high end people - that is definitly not the case.

It can and has been done with a lot lower groups some bosses are harder than others. With time you will learn which ones what groups can handle. I am sure if you had a bit more mr it wouldn't have been as big of an issue say a bard singing mr resist song and gmr or sw.

Major strat leak:

if you chain root this mob he only hits the closest player to him, which will always unmez the mezzed tank.

i hate to say it but if you brought a tier 5 tank your group is overtier for elds. try using that root method it seems real good.

This was the first time playing SoD that I just outright logged after and because of the experience. I'll go back after I can push my MR to 300, which seems ridiculous given the content level.

Eldenal's is one of the lower tier 65 zones.

Now you know the strat for that fight, you'll do better next time. If you plan on playing a lot and especially raiding, get ready to get yourself killed by bosses and get ready to look really dumb while it happens to you because you don't know the strat to the fight.

Learning and pushing a fight to the next phase / to the end is the most rewarding part of this game.

One big reason why there aren't many groups in Elds castle is the long respawn time. Because the zone respawns so slowly, it can only support groups are low tier enough or patient people/ people who afk a lot.

That said, the nameds are much harder than the trash mobs in elds, owing to the mez they do. Once you figure out how to avoid the mez they aren't too bad.

chiming in that eldenals is substantially older than all tier 8+ content and was definitely one of the premiere exp zones for me when I was raiding DHK/PoT/PoA etc.

I think the respawn time has been lowered /caugh /hide. We had a way over tiered group there a couple of days ago helping some new guys get faction items, and there was almost no down time. That said, the xp was crap compared to blessed zones or higher end 65 zones.
