"Helpy Helper"
The BEST post I have EVER read submitted to our guild forums by [58 Conjurer] Ehrlyss (Dark Elf) <Reveleation>:
So about two days ago I was with a group in Dragon Necropolis getting experience by killing rats in the rat city area.
We were doing quite well but the puller mentioned that he must be having a strange bug...because he was seeing a whole bunch of me, but they were conning indifferent so nobody worried about it, dismissing it as a bug.
Then we were attacked by snipers.
It struck people as odd but they thought it might be a new monster in the zone or something, maybe a really strange bug. Then of course this happened. (recreation)
Thankfully my group was more helpful than the pet was.
In any case at this point it became the theory that a gm was playing with
the group. Someone spotted "The Real Ehrlyss" on track including a named troll nobody had seen before. They tried approaching "the real me" but she disappeared when they got close.
Being as this was slightly distracting we kind of lost track of the respawn.
After the corpse retrieval and ressing a troll named "Hob's little brother" walked into our camp. It was sort of playing off as I was some mean dark elf mistress sort and I think I was probably supposed to be roleplaying as such...but who can be mean to an adorable troll? After a while of attempting to make something happened he got killed by one of the real me's snipers.
Oh and then this happened.
SO after we got our corpses that time we resolved to pursue the real me
and the rather disconcertingly growing army "of Ehrlyss" that was amassing on the bard's track.
Most of the army we encountered was just green cons, though in large numbers with some dark blue commander style units, and each with an annoyingly hard to target healer unit.
The theory and pretense that this was a clone army of sorts (and my wanting to call in the NCIS to help) sort of ended when it was pointed out that the "an Ehrlyss" was more of an ownership thing than an indication that they *were* me. OH well.
So we progressed on, through about three seperate groups of greens and leaders.
Eventually we came to one called "an Ehrlyss Easy Target" which of course led the group into an ambush by..."an Ehrlyss Ambusher"-s. Unfortunately there were five of them and they were all wizards...npc wizards.
Let's take a look at what happened!
SO after we did our corpse recovery and were about halfway ready to set forth again the spawn that normally happened to be exactly where we were camping spawned.
This time we didn't completely wipe though and the spider met with a mysterious demise just before the cleric died. We pressed onward and
met some new members of my militia.
Spiderific! They certainly weren't as hard as the first spider.
We were now nearing the building at the far east tip of Dragon Necropolis, the one with the lava in it.
At this point we finally saw "The Real Ehrlyss" and her gigantic fire pet. She then sent her siblings after us (only two at once thankfully). They had crazy amounts of hp but were manageable otherwise.
Finally we engaged the real me.
They messed the pet first and tried to take her down. At which point she laughed and said "you'll never find out my secret". Someone said the slaves were healing her, so we killed all the poor slaves. That didn't work...so they switched to the one sure fire way to kill a mage:
Mes the mage, then kill the pet, then kill the mage. If it's good enough for a goddamn green enchanter Liodreth it's good enough for a group of players.
So yeah...that worked.
She dropped a crystal staff that was about equivalent to a starfall but with no focus.
The dragon hatchling remains you might see in the background if you squint and put your face an inch from the screen dropped hatchling remains. Nobody was touching them as nobody knew what they were for. The wikipedia was not helpful. The gm noted that we'd missed 'the best loot' so I said that someone should take the remains as he must mean them. Nobody did and I looted the stupid remains before they decayed.
Turns out he did mean the remains. ;( The gm berated the group because he "couldn't believe Ehrlyss got all the loot". I still feel bad about it. =( Oh well I turned it in for a 50 hp/50 mana 50 disease resist ring.
and that's the exciting end of the saga.
