Easy fix for patchergetting stuck/website that won't load

use the winters roar ip 67.15.24.48 instead of wintersroar.com plus change this(wintersroar.com/patcher/ to 67.15.24.48/patcher/) in the file patchset and patcher will work

DNS woes

Yes or you can change you hosts(.ini) file to include this:

67.15.24.48 www.wintersroar.com
67.15.24.48 wintersroar.com

(put these at the very bottom and make sure to remove when DNS is back 100%)

the file is located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc on a WinXP machine.

I cheated ..

I run my own DNS server in the house and just added the IP to it..

where is the file patchset located?

It should be in your Patcher folder... If you didn't make one, the search your drive for patchset.txt

I've tried this and my patcher still hangs under ' Getting patch list ' :?

Suppose I'll try Konar's suggestion, although with the simplicity of this fix it's kinda...hard to see how it can fail :brow:

Edit: Well I've tried Konar's fix, this has done a grand job of getting me to the website & forums but it's not seemed to aid the patcher at all.

I'm hoping this is down to human error on my part, could somebody with a working patcher please look this over, it's the entire script taken from my patchset.txt under the WR patcher folder. Til then I'll mull this over and feel sorry for myself ;(

Alright, a quick trip to irc and a quick follow of hyperlink has fixed my particular problem. Namely, I had to place;

http://67.15.24.48/patcher/

within the patchset file. Forming a working patchset.txt of;

http://67.15.24.48/patcher/

True

Twas missing the http://, which apparently makes a difference.
