I could use the help of our linux communtiy (Ubuntu) Ive got the worse troubles ever when trying to duel box. first off eqw doesn't work under wine, so i have to run the eqgame.exe unwindowed. the problem am having is when i go to load up the 2nd client the first one closes out just stright disapires. if i try to load it on the other virutal desktop it loads up but then i have a mouse issue getting stuck on the boarders of the game window unable to move it inless i do some funky alt tap windows E key clicking taping dunno pretty crazy to get it to respond agian.

has anyone been able to duel box under ubuntu with wine?

just use the standard windowed mode of the ever-q client as-is. it used to be really crappy and not give you proper borders and run really slow, but it no longer has any of those problems in more recent builds of wine.

do NOT use cedega, and crossover games would just be a waste of money if EQ is the only windows game you're going to want to play.

as for trying wineq - i can already tell you it won't work right just based on the little spiel about it on it's homepage. eqpn actually makes things SLOWER in wine, because wine already takes over resource management from the windows executable.

slicersv so what ur saying as long as 1 doesn't go full screen neither will crash?, intresting idea but when i load 1 and go to open the other the first one is in windowed mode the second enters full screen killing the first, so ill have to camp out in windowed mode to make sure it sticks. thanks ill try latter today

well i have done it for the first time, beleave it or not it was my fault for not seeing it earlyer. every time i went to open the 2nd client i Always clicked the "show desktop" icon on my desktop bar well i was so quick at lauching the shortcut that i didn't even notice thats what was causeing the other client to just disapire guess its something in wine that doesn't like the show desktop button
