Dual 2 Boxes Question

Was hoping you guys could help me out on this one. We are looking for a good 4-man group that can take on the harder 6-man dungeons and zones (when we get there). However, we were hoping to have each 2 Box be self-sustainable so when we arent both on we can still level with just our own characters.

I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to RPG's and will farm like no tomorrow to outfit my two guys with the best possible gear. I was hoping my friend could get a fun duo for when I'm not on.

Two-Box 1
Paladin \ Cleric (I will probably play these two since Paladin will need gear and high AA's)
Two-Box 2
Bard \ Shaman (Low DPS)
Necro \ Shaman (Not sure how duo would work since necro is a loner)
Necro \ Beastlord (Will we need the extra healing later on?)
Beastlord \ Bard (Would be harder to play solo when other person isn't on)

Leaning toward Necro \ Shaman for friend because he's not great at multitasking. I'd say Necro \ Bst but I can just imagine him always forgetting to send both pets in each pull.

Thanks Guys!

Bard \ Shaman makes a decent duo for when I'm not on? Never played a bard so not sure on how fast or difficult it will be for him.

For the times when we can't find a dps or two what would be another 4-man combo that might have better dps but still have most of the utility?

I may be way off here, but I'd almost say do your pal with your shm, and your bard with your cleric. The paladin self heals will help the shaman out while you're still progressing and leveling because the shaman healing is fairly weak to start out, and the cleric will be much nicer with the bard leveling for the same reason. Also this way you have decent slows with each duo. The shaman can also help provide some DPS with the paladin side that you'll be missing out on with pal/clr, and you'll also have run speed in each duo that way.

Shaman/Bard is a solid duo post tier 10, but I remember thade bitching constantly that he should have used a cleric instead before his bard got some decent higher end raid gear, and a bard/cleric duo is an awfully stout duo for farming.

Bard/shaman is harder at lower tiers. the higher you get the more powerful it gets.

Also saying bard/shaman.

Also, avoid boxing classes with 2 pets at once, it's just a gigantic pain in the ass, and you don't really gain anything by doing it.

If you want the both of you to be able to handle yourself as well as possible on your own, while at the same time making a good setup for 6man content, I'd recommend you to switch your combo to a paladin+shaman. Then he could go with a bard + druid.

As the paladin gets good hots and decent selfheals, a shaman healer is more than sufficient for when going on your own. The bard might have an easier time with a better healer though and the bard+druid combination is awesome for both kiting and other duoing.

For the 4 of you this combo should give you some more dps than you'd get with the cleric. With the paladin having symbol (hp buff close to clerics), the druid will also add some buffs for your 4 without losing too much. You will also gain ports, making it easier for your group to travel. With a paladin tank and shaman there you really shouldn't need a cleric healer, a druid would be more than sufficient.

Downsides: If you also want to raid, you would have an easier time getting a guild if you were willing to main the cleric, on the other hand I don't think you'd be screwed on the shaman and your friend should have a decent chance on one of his chars.

Playing a shaman well, can take some work especially when boxing and it will probably be more fun for you to play the pally+shaman combo, while the bard+druid combo should be both fun and easy for your friend.

He wants to do 6 man stuff and druids are well, not very good at it.

Trying to figure out some starting zones for my friends new Bard and Cleric. I figured he could be a Vah Bard since that starting zone is nice. Cleric wise, not sure what other zones have decent start quests or monsters to grind.

I'm not going to bother trying to min-max his characters via race/stats so it's fine if he picks a race with non-ideal racial traits.

if you do vah bard, the most convinient cleric is probly a froglock, since they start kinda close together zone-wise. ofc you have to put up with being a frog

Any new newbie quests in Grobb? The swap isn't the best start zone grind wise, hoping there are some quests to make it more palletable.

If not, I can always show him how to use the MoP system once he his 15 or so in whatever newbie zone he begins at to meet up with him other character.

I'd honestly say wood elf bard, high elf cleric since the two starting zones are right next to each other. then mop him to newport because it kicks the shit out of any other starting zone. Plus wood elf bards are pretty much the best for leveling because you can just kite animals all day without training yourself with more of them.
