Druid pet suggestion/request

This thread is referring to the level 55 Druid pet (Spell: Nature Walker's Behest) and me spamming Bards on raids/groups. I read the sticky information regarding this post to see if it was even possible with the game client and I didn't see anything that would suggest it wouldn't be. Not because I'm demanding it be done, but just because I didn't wanna waste anyone's time reading this if the client couldn't do it. If the client can't do this, then I understand and sorry to have wasted your time.

My problem: Whenever I group with a Bard, my pet continually spams the Bard because my pet is to low level for one of the Bards songs. I wanted to ask my guild Bard which song it was but he isn't around this morning. All I know is that he gets very annoyed with the spam and it lags up his computer. Thus, all Druids are forced to kill off their bear friends during all raids or whenever our Bard needs to use that song. Now this isn't game breaking by any means, but it does kill off some of my dps and a nice safety net I have whenever I happen to steal some mob hate while healing/nuking.

My suggestion/request: Is it possible to raise the bear pet level so that he will no longer spam the bard? I'm not asking that the pet gain HP's or DMG. I don't want my bear pet to be any better then he is now (Well, I'd love for him to be, but that's not the point of this thread...). All I'm wanting is for the Druid pet to be of higher level, if that's possible, without raising any of his stats so that the Bard song can land on him and not spam the Bard to hell.

The pet is never ment to be of any serious impact anyway, why bother summoning it in the first place?

The situations that i use it for are like... rare... very rare.
 
I am all for this. They can easily make the level higher without raising stats, but I am not sure what else this would affect. Not sure this has ever caused me lag, but it is annoying nonetheless. Is it even necessary anymore to have bard songs not affect smaller level toons/pets? Since the songs are not AE, you need the bard in the group or raid, and would negate any sort of power-leveling that may occur.

The pets are added dps, even if it is small. On long fights they are nice. They are also nice for tanking adds before they can be controlled in groups. Just because they are situational is no reason to not fix something (however, in this case, the problem may not need fixed).

I love my bear and use it all the time. Once the new pet aoe avoidance spells go in it will be even more useful on raids, but in exp groups that I main heal it is a persistent DoT that doesn't require me to use healing mana or casting time. So any thing that makes them more user friendly to my group / raid mates is A+ in my book!

Wondering when the new spells is coming!

Cant that thing be filtered btw? Or even make bard songs lower lvl req! Probably not gonna pimp out the pet.
 
AFAIK. The pet would need to be 1 level higher to have it stop spamming the bards. Seems like a simple request.

The OP didnt ask to make the pet more powerful. You could raise the level the required amount without raising it's DPS a single point. This would fix the issue and make bards everywhere sing with less feedback.

Too bad it's so freaking huge, one would imagine bears would be more powerful. I don't think changing the bear model to rabbit would ever happen, though :keke:

to bad this isn't live and shrink doesn't actually grow it :p

it believe this summons a lvl 44 pet which means our buffs we cast on it land on it but bards are 1 level off from being able to land there spells on it so i completely 100% agree on this. and to the person that said they dont use it as long as your not fighting spell casting mobs or for some reason cant always place booboo on the back then you should be using him he actually does like 60dps which is fairly good imo.
 
It's pot4 which is the problem because it has a minimum level requirement of 45 or so. Pot4 does not need changed, but the druid pet level should be increased and the rest of the stats nerfed to keep it in line with how it was previously.
 
Would it be possible to up the bears level but keep the stats the same?


Can't the bard just filter that stuff out anyways?
 
Add a level to the Bear?! OMFG, now droods will be wayyyyy OPed. Bards should learn to deal with this entirely necessary annoyance. That is what you get for grouping/raiding with treehuggers. Sorry, Druids shouldn't get the way to powerful pet and bards shouldn't vicariously loving nature.
 
It's not lag, it's being spammed with two lines of red text every tick. I was missing "can't see target" messages because of it just last night.
 
Druid pets are lvl 48 and spam the hell out of my song messages.
For reference, shaman pets are lvl 55.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I was curious as to whether or not this suggestion was being considered by the staff? I asked my guild Bard to kill himself last night since I was tired of having to kill off my bear friend but i had very little luck.
 
If they wanted to, cant the bards adjust the in-game filters and block the spam message or move the spam message to a spam chat box?

when the druid pulls aggro the pet is a good save chance as is
 
They CAN filter song messages, but then all your song messages will be lost in w/e spam. All of your song effects are in the same boat as xyz is too low level * amount of low level players/pets. More of an annoyance really... just gotta make ur song window really big.
