Druid + Necro Box Query's

First of all hello peoples. I would like to get some feedback on this particular box combo. (Edited out because it sounded pretentious). On to the questions!

Q1. How tough are these two to box in all situations (farming, duoing, grouping, raiding, w/e else).
Q2. Which one needs to be focused on more in terms of use?
Q3. How useful are the ports in this game? I read that there is no PoK and instead some sort of portal castle or something? How much does this place effect the use of ports?
Q4. Who will be putting out most of the DPS and who will have aggro most of the time?
Q5. Will I need to kite at any point and how do you accomplish this with this duo? Do I need to kite with both at once? Ping Pong? Use of auto follow?
Q6. I will probably be going Dark Elf and Wood Elf as they are my favorite races. Are there any downsides to these race choices?
Q7. How much DPS does the necro pet account for? At what levels can the pet tank w/ necro + druid heals?
Q8. As a person who has boxed both to high level do you think I would be better off playing just one of them and not boxing? Or is there a point in the level progession boxing the two that I should just play one of them for better results?
Q9. Is druid still the best alt to have to buff your lowbie alts/friends?

I just came to this lovely emu and am still trying to get my barrings a bit. Any help answering these questions is much appreciated.

Q1. How tough are these two to box in all situations (farming, duoing, grouping, raiding, w/e else).

In my opinion, not very hard. This can vary from person to person though. You need to be 'with it' when it comes to healing necro pet if he is being used as a tank. They have lackluster ac in comparison to PC's. In the high end, it's not effective due to the necro pet's lack of tanking ability. Once you get to mobs that summon, this duo loses its effectiveness since they are both great for kiting.

Q2. Which one needs to be focused on more in terms of use?

You can set up a dot rotation macro button. This will allow you to focus on healing and snaring on the druid. Necro snares do damage but are much harder to land than druid snares.

Q3. How useful are the ports in this game? I read that there is no PoK and instead some sort of portal castle or something? How much does this place effect the use of ports?

Ports are very useful, especially for questing and getting to hard to reach exp zones.

Q4. Who will be putting out most of the DPS and who will have aggro most of the time?

If you keep your pet hasted and do not over nuke/over DoT on the necromancer, your pet should maintain aggro. Your necro should be putting out the most dps by a comfortable margin. Necromancers are probably the best dps class in the game, especially at raiding tiers.

Q5. Will I need to kite at any point and how do you accomplish this with this duo? Do I need to kite with both at once? Ping Pong? Use of auto follow?

I would fear/snare kite. Or you can aggro kite, while having the pets beat on it. You have options. Necros can easily maintain aggro by stacking DoTs. I would recommend primarily snaring on the druid, as it is the most dependable. Druids also can ae snare later on which allows you to keep multiple mobs under control. You can also aggro kite using the druid by chain nuking.

Q6. I will probably be going Dark Elf and Wood Elf as they are my favorite races. Are there any downsides to these race choices?

No.

Q7. How much DPS does the necro pet account for? At what levels can the pet tank w/ necro + druid heals?

The necro pet is OK dps. Before lvl 65, it makes a pretty good tank. With druid heals you can easily manage most mobs. I soloed from 1-63 on my necro without my druid as I didn't 2 box yet, and was able to manage keeping the pet alive with the DoT pet heal and mend bones. Relic necro pet probably puts out around 40-80 dps depending on companion strength and tomes.

Q8. As a person who has boxed both to high level do you think I would be better off playing just one of them and not boxing? Or is there a point in the level progession boxing the two that I should just play one of them for better results?

Now looking back I wish I would have boxed my necro/druid. I was not comfortable boxing at the time and they both were on the same account anyways. I would do it, since it would save you a lot of time. It's really an effective duo overall, and you can offer a lot to groups at lvl 65. As a strict duo at lvl 65 it's limited with npc's that summon. If your druid gets geared enough he can tank in some situations.

His last point is important.

Make TWO accounts if you are going to box. You can and will suffer jail time or worse for boxing off the same account when we catch you, its not good for our DB or server.

Zedaine ...druids n necros are great.

What Zedaine said. ^

Only thing I'll mention is erudites and gnomes get small bonuses to damage and other things. Aisling has a nice post comparing racials somewhere, which I forgot to bookmark. Aislings post on racials

There really is no reason why a dark elf shouldn't be just fine though.
