Druid dire charm areas/mobs?

I know all of the "problems" with dire charm, but I was looking around for a list of areas/mobs that a druid can successfully dire charm. I know 99% of players swear against getting the ability, but I just want some information on it.

I would assume EBL, WBL, darkwoods, and maybe EW/WW? Are there any lesser known areas or specific mobs in zones that are sometimes overlooked? Anything in SG? Before I start running all over the place trying out normal charming I was hoping someone could point to a list or just suggest some places.

Plaguelands snakes, LB, some DB.
Scorpions there as well.

LB are always safe, some DBs will be too high though.

The problem is, your bear pet will achieve a lot of the same results that a lvl <50 animal would...most of the time at least. Now if it were capped at lvl 55 mobs, you could charm Plaguewracked Pumas (52-55) and it would be an entirely different story. There really isn't a dire charm'able mob that puts your bear pet to shame. That's just my personal opinion though, from my personal experiences.

Keep in mind a few things about your bear pet if you think he's useless:
- If he can land hits he's very good at interrupting casters
- Against lvl <50 mobs (for the most part) he makes an exceptional pin cushion.
- It's a lot easier to re-summon your bear then it is to re-dire charm a mob (when they die).
- Your bear zones with you.

attempt to DC a mob that is to high lvl and the skill is blown until the reuse timer counts back down. annoying. I only DC something for laughs and when im extreamly bored.

If I thought the bear pet was useless I wouldn't even consider "upgrading" him. I 2-box a paly/druid and anyway that I can increase my druids manaless DPS (pet) I want to as early as possible. It will make every subsequent AA slightly faster and eventually I'll make up the 9 AA's that most consider better spent.

Now that is assuming a dire charmed pet actually IS an upgrade since you claim a dire charmed pet isn't a substantial upgrade. Has anyone parsed the bear pet and charmed mobs? If not, what is a commonly used program that people here use to parse data? I'd be willing to do parsings myself.
