i found all my cd's
I installed them in the following order on my vista ultimate machine

EQ1
ruins of Kunark
Scars if Velious
Shadow of Luclin
Planes of Power

I cant get the game patcher to run (it just wont patch for me)
so I downloaded the sodpatcher from this website
ran it and it said it patched abunch of stuff.

I tried running it again but it just gives me a (303) error

I deleted eqstr_us and eqstr_en files and tried running that sodpatcher again and get the 303 error.. so I tried launching the eqgame.exe it says to run everquest.exe, i tried that and it just never connects to a patch server...

What am i missing?? :/ Im getting the EQ itch to play again, Last time I really played was when iksar's were put in the game and allowed to be monks heh
 
Have you actually read and followed the starting guide on this very section of the forum?

Since you didnt list half the things in there as steps you took, and do not have the correct expansions, I'm going to assume you didn't, and suggest you do so now.
 
i did:

1. To make the install process much smoother the first recommended step is to verify you have the Microsoft .Net Framework properly installed on your computer. To download and install the .Net Framework CLICK HERE. When the webpage opens, click on the DOWNLOAD button. Save the file to your computer and execute it when it has finished downloading. You may have to reboot your computer when this is finished to complete the install. When this step is completed, proceed to step 2.

2. Insert your Original Game CD in to your CD-ROM drive, and install the game with the default installation options. The Default options will be assumed with the rest of the setup guide with screenshots. It is also assumed you will be using the default Windows XP built in .zip file/utility. The same steps will work using Winzip or Winrar as well, though the screen will look slightly different. When the installation from your Original Game CD's is completed, proceed to the next step.

3. Double click on the "the Game" icon on your desktop to start the Original Game Patcher program. When the patcher

when i clicked the game icon it failed to launch the patcher, hence i cant do this step: 4. When the advanced options page is open, check off all of the appropriate boxes as show in the image below (Original through Gates of Discord, including Optional Zones), and then click the Complete File Check button. If your download does not start right away, click Save, and then select Download. This process can take SEVERAL hours to complete, be patient and wait for this to finish.

so yes, I did skip to step 5) 5. When the Game Live Patcher has completed, open your web browser and navigate to the SoD website (http://www.shardsofdalaya.com) and click on the Files link on the left (see image below). Then click on the SoD Patcher link, this will prompt you to download/open the .zip file. Select the open with option and then click the OK button

and picked up from there...

So you are saying since I do not have all the expansion packs, I will not to play. Great, thanks for that. Dont assume anything.

thats what i get all the time trying to patch and i have my firewall even turned off...
