Dragons or Giants

Is it better to be ally to dragons or Giants. Or is it possible to be ally to both. Who do you kill to get good giant faction?
 
if you want dragon faction you kill giants and if you want giant faction you kill dragons

if your a caster i would advise dragon faction
if your not a caster i would advise giant faction
