I havent seen this Addressed anywhere after browsing the forums for a few weeks - but in Live, I remember that dots only did a percentage of their base damage unless the mob was rooted or feared. 1) Does anyone know what i am talking about, and 2) does that apply here?

Thanks =D Still working my way around this new world.

From a necromancer's point of view:

1. Fear is disabled in many zones
2. Pet is too weak to tank mobs in the 60s
Therefore fear-kiting and root-DoT'ing aren't really viable options.

This is (probably) why DoTs in SoD work for their full effect even when the NPC is chasing you.

Thanks, so i noticed (concerning fear). I do remember necros who would hunt pet-less because they could just root/darkness/splurt/health draining dot(forget name) and rinse and repeat. Perhaps thats because pets took xp in Live, supposedly?

Pets used to take equal share of the exp in EQ but that was changed at some point (quite a few years ago). After the change, they'd take exp only if they did all of the damage on the NPC.
