Donators and no more sharing 1 account with 2 toons

When Wiz changed it from being able to access multiple toons from one account at once to the current system where they have to be seperate it made a much deeper change. Any donator benefits now only go to one account where you may only have one toon. For ability to box and other fun bits, I think nearly everyone has had to spread toons over multiple accounts to fit into this change.

I do not think it has been adressed before, but I suggest that those who donate get the donation benefits on their accounts . The benefits of donating have been slashed from this change. I think it would be nice to let the players have the benefits on more than just the one account. Heck, an additional benefit for donating could be that at Silver you get the benefits on 2 accounts, at Gold you get it on 3 and at Platinum you can get it on 4 accounts.

This would help people deal with the rule of no 2boxing from same account and encourage more donations at the same time.
 
I agree as long as all the accounts use the same e-mail address so that you can not give your benefits to other bots/players in a guild.
 
That wouldn't be doable in the proposed form, since there's a limit of 3 accounts per e-mail address.

Personally, I don't really even see a problem with sharing the donator benefits. If two people want to go in together to pay for a monthly platinum donation and reap the benefits together, more power to them! I think this should be supported - it helps the server, and it certainly doesn't unbalance the game.

Maybe set a limit of 2 different e-mail addresses, 3 for platinum? IDK. But I don't really see a problem with something that encourages donations without significantly affecting gameplay.

Hmm, how can we see what email an account is set up with? I have 6 accounts with various #'s of toons on each. Been ages since I had set them up and I had thought that they all used the same email.
 
Well, there really should never be a reason to have more than 2 accounts because at most you would bot two characters together at once, I can even see having three toons if one was a port box or something but honestly there is no need to have more than 3 accounts unless you are anal and want each toon on its own account or have just a ton of characters.
 
I had Hasrett on one account, Hasritt on another. I had my monk, Hasrutt, on a third. All the same e-mail addy.

I have a port bot on a fourth account. Second e-mail address. I don't even know which anymore.

After returning from my extended hiatus, I started two new accounts for a new pair of mains (ended up abandoning one in the 30s). Third e-mail address.

I have a mule account that I share with a friend. Fourth e-mail address.

I can easily imagine some of the longer-standing players having more than just that. If I had played for the year and a half I was gone, I imagine I would have leveled a couple more alts as I got bored with exping Ritt and Rett. They would have been on separate accounts, so I could pick and mix which chars I wanted with which.

If I have four characters, I could divide them onto two accounts, meaning that two of the characters would each never be able to play together, or four accounts, allowing me to box whichever one(s) I need for a given raid/group. IMO that's a really good reason to have more than two accounts.

Well this guy here had a pretty good question. I would assume that the linking of accounts for shared donator benefit status would run through email addy. So, question stands. How would you go about finding out the email addy on an account?

And for the record, no I do not support sharing a donator status with someone else. It is $5 a month minimum amount. Why would you split that?
 
The 3-accounts-per-email rule no longer holds true, but the front page hasn't been updated.
 
This was actually brought up (by me) in the original Announcement: Accounts thread:

Since we can no longer play 2 toons on the same account simultaneously, could subscriptions be associated with multiple accounts? Maybe just for those accounts that existing donator toons are moved to, to prevent abuse?

I am still a hopeful person. It makes sense to me is all there is to it. The Person is the one donating and his toons get the benefits. Since the change, the benefit is way less. I would love to get pocket plane access, but if I (the person behind all of my toons) donate then only 1 of my accounts (which mostly have 1 toon) gets the benefit.
 
The problem with allowing any significant amount of accounts for a donator is that we'd have to add an extra layer of managment to make sure people aren't taking the opportunity to flag all their guildmates and friends as well, not to mention the whole apparaturs for flagging and unflagging would need a revamp.

Two account per donator, I could see that. More is just not practical.
