Do i need the regular E Q patch before installing SoD?

I buyed the E Q while ago and i just installed it. i started the patcher as i went on the internet to find some private servers (didn't feel like payin ).

I found SoD and it has a patch file that i downloaded and i was wondering do i need E Q patched to the latest version? Cause its very slow and its gonna take forever T_T Id like to know if i can avoid the patching :/

Yes, you need to patch up to GoD (that text is outdated).
