Can we get the ability to stop from being interrupted on our songs. The way mages get when they are casting spells.

It seems if I get hit my damage song is always stopped.

We get the ability to have 2 melody and 2/3 attack songs.

What about the possibility of making it so if your in a defensive stance or something you could get 3 Melody / 1 attack
Aggressive you get 3 attack and 1 melody and normal you get what is currently in the system?

Just a Idea and Suggestion.

There's an AA that gives a chance to not get your non-melody songs interrupted, plus there's a style, Focused Mind, that prevents any and all interruptions.

Getting our non-melody songs insta-dispelled whenever we get bashed/stunned is pretty harsh. You pretty much have to live in the focused mind /style when mezzing and slowing now as a single bash/stun and it's a jailbreak as all your mezzes and slows get insta-dispelled. AA's and the focused /style give some relief to the high end bard, but what options does a younger bard have?

For bards under 40, I imagine life is pretty rough if they try and do crowd control. One bash/stun at the wrong time and all other mezzes insta-break. First mez is AE too so they don't even have a choice of targeting one at a time. Any resists and they're in big trouble as the one who resists will most likely bash and insta-dispell the other mezzes and the bard most likely gets a visit to his bind point. Maybe the bard tries to melee solo something, cast slow, resist, cast slow, it lands, get bashed, slow gets dispelled, cast slow again, resist, cast slow, slow lands, get bashed, slow gets dispelled......


I suggest that the focused mind style get moved to level 15 instead of 40. I suggest 15 because that's when we get our first mez and our first slow is a few levels later.

I like limited's idea about being able to switch to 1 aggressive/3 melody songs, but that's another topic for another day for me.

15 is a little early for that style, but you could add a lesser version of it, like one that decreases your chances of being interruped but doesn't guaruntee it. /shrug

Absolutely not, it would greatly decrease the utility of multiple bards on raids, something that is already a bit of a problem.

(And a problem that just got worse, thanks to the stacking changes of PoT4 and the Chorus line of spells: would it be possible to discuss that PLEASE?)

P.S. it has occured to me that the Bard balancing discussion here is a little obselete, due to the fact that it was made mostly to discuss the melody changes, afaik, and I fear that nobody pays attention to this thread anymore. But every time I want to post a bard issue, I feel I have to do it here, because this is the "bard thread". Should I just keep posting anything and everything about bards here, or can we get a new thread or something? Or should I make a new thread in Suggestions and Requests if I want to discuss something like the resist changes?

what happens to an ench when some mob bashes him at level 65? he gets intrupted that is if he even survies the round count urselfs lucky that ur wareing plate and dont have the same problem

Enchanter gets interrupted, and the spell they are casting stops. When a bard gets bashed, ALL offensive songs terminate. If that were the case with the enchanter, not only would the spell be interrupted, but the 4 mobs they already had mezzed would suddenly be free as well. Big difference.

Also when that enchanter gets bashed he has a chance to contiue casting. Were stopped right away.
