differences in flaming sword and burning spear

What is the difference (besides weapon) between Flaming Sword of Xuzl and Burning Spear of Tarhyl?

Just got the burning spear spell (thanks Ruin!) and wondered. More hp? More dps? Can actually take more than a single hit?

Yes, yes, and depends on what's hitting it, but probably yes. It's not going to be doing any tanking, though, unless you're farming Blackburrow. When soloing, though, the increase in HP will give you enough time to get off another root cast if things aren't going well *cough*.

Oh, and it also occasionally procs like a 150ish point DD. Plus it looks cooler.

It's really nice kiting stuff around with your little spear buddy if your out of dots and can't afford a nuking familier.
