difference between live and sod for a bard question

hello everyone I am new to SoD and so far its great but I have noticed my bards songs work a bit different cords the first dot a bard gets at lvl 2 on live hits everything and it pulls everything around but on here you have to target the mobs it seems so question 1 is how do I keep it going on the mobs if I want to kite them? if I have 4 mobs in tow and im running in circles it wears off and doesnt hit them all again question 2 if the mob says it winces (normally followed by damage) here it seems to say winces sometimes and not do any damage at all and the mob isnt hurt any idea or trick i can use to get past this small issue?

if the mob is aggro'd and you have your lvl 2 AE spell going, and they are within range, all the mobs will be hit. most that are not aggro'd will not be affected however.

if your song isnt hitting anyone its either because they resisted it, or because your song has stopped playing.
