Diety Selection

Suggestion:

An expensive AA that allows you to "reset" your diety to Unsworn. Either make it a one time use or have the AA become available again after purchase (i.e. 0/1). Mechanically, this could allow a better diety selection as new content is added. Roleplaying, it would allow conversions. Maybe tie it into a quest if desired. Expensive enough that nobody would see this as an advantage so much as a realignment of character focus.

Well damn. Now I feel like an idiot. Thanks.

So... how about a quest with the reward being the ability to reset your diety selection? LOL.

Earn yourself some fame and the devotion of scores of players on the server and draw up a rough quest idea and submit it to the staff ;)

I would think as part of a quest to become Unsworn the first step would having to go Pariah.

Showing the character no longer believes in what ever diety they once worshipped.
The PC would now be flagged to talk to some NPC, that helps the PC along some quest line showing them that really the gods have not forsaken the Races of the world. That they really are better off showing respect etc for the deity.

Decent Length quest, some running, some turn ins, choices to be made, add a sprinkleing of some Alighment shifts dependent on chooses, season to taste and poof.

The end of it switching the Pariah to unsworn so the PC can now choose any deity they want ( along with finaly being able to go Divine Light if they so choose ). The quest should not reset negative Faction however with deitys. If you killed in Land of Bliss tough shit, Shintri still hates you.

Just out of curiosity, how would you handle SKs, Paladins, and frogs? They all have a preset deity. Food for thought.

Whats thier to handle? They just go to island of voice and talk to Pariah guy. I've seen a few Sks/Pals on the server that are pariah already because they didn't want to have to mess around with alighment. At one point I think Pals/Sk were going to get hit with a penalty for being to far out of alightment but I'm pretty sure that was never implement judgeing by those Formelos.

My Froglok Shaman is already Pariah because his alightment got shifted WAAAaaayyy out from Malath back before alightment matter so rather then have a 3% deity bonus.
(and my Froglok paladin was dead on for Malath then got changed to Althuna /cry )

It was a way old idea that never got implemented. No clue whether or not it's planned, heh.

If they do plan at some point to put it in thiers going to be a few people cruseing up the forums LOL.

Currently everything works :)

Changing religions aside, it would be nice to have some sort of faction redemption for players that screwed their 'religious' faction over before religion was fully implemented.

I understand the staff/dev position on the religion font, it just sucks that even a few months ago there was not as much information about ways to change faction and some of the diety quests.
It would be nice if there was a complicated quest someone could do to adjust faction / religion in some manner. As long as it did not require one to be tier9 equiped with at least 2 groups, would make it damn hard for the average player.
From my point of view I shot myself in the foot with one toon because I wanted to RP the quests from a evil iksar attempting to redeem hisself. Now I know better and have the other characters sworn appropriatly.
