Gonna have to agree with eldo on this, it certainly doesn't hurt your raidspot, you are still going to have to summon them, just won't help you anymore if you get one, or you'll have one less to summon. I'm not really a fan of them stacking either, tbh if you want more dps, you're better off playing a different class. It's what I was originally referring to when I said I'd never bother with a 215 for a mage. The time spent farming for it would be better spent busting out aa's hardcore and then swapping over to tomes asap.

I have never understood why mages bash on their class so much. For what they do and the diversity of spells/pets/items they can provide excellent groupage and raid utility and dps. I have played with many including several from the top 5. They are an excellent addition to a raid or group hands down.

Tbh we alot of our diversity early on, and alot of bashing is minor annoyances like aa form stacking, overwrites and a very situational relic ds, long to extra long recasts (petheal, bop, sop, coth) things like that. I do wonder what pets are parsing now though, seeing as itemhaste wasn't functional before.
 
Shaman ancient haste should stack with GoE because my ancient haste is worthless and obsolete. My utility is ruined even though I have lots of other amazing things. Right?

A very poor comparison, Enchanters have always obtained their haste spells first and have always had the better haste spell in the end,this is an item that is making a spell obsolete not another class.

I don't even play my Mage anymore I just tossed out an idea for giving them a little more overall utility without being overpowered, which I don't believe an extra 1% spell crit, or an extra 1 or 2% item melee overhaste would be.
 
Lots of items and spells become obsolete once you obtain something better. I really do not see how this situation is any different.
