This is the current situation: Deepmetal plate and deepmetal chain armor takes the exact same amounts of items and have same trivial levels for combine (? atleast true for all lower lvl armors) however most of the time the only difference between them is that the chain has slightly lower ac than the plate and sometimes some stat is slightly lower as well. In other regards its the same armor.
Example:
Deepmetal Platemail Greaves (legs)
Ac 26
str 6, dex 6, sta 6, cha 6, wis 4, int 4, agi 6
hp 70, mana 70
sv fire 2, sv disease 1, sv cold 1, sv magic 8, sv poison 1
Deepmetal chainmail leggings
ac: 23
str 6, dex 4, sta 6, cha 4, wis 4, int 4, agi 4
hp: 70, mana: 70
sv fire: 2, sv disease 1, sv cold 1, sv magic 8, sv poison 1
For the above two items what differs is that the chain version has 3 ac less and 2 less dexterity/2 less agility. Now I can understand the ac.. naturally the plate armor should have higher ac, however since the items have the same costs and trivials to make would it be possible to put those lost ac points into stats instead? also I do not understand why the stats are lower in the above case.
A suggestion on how the above chain version could look to make this more balanced:
Deepmetal chainmail leggings
ac: 23
str 7, dex 7, sta 6, cha 4, wis 5, int 5, agi 6
hp: 70, mana: 70
sv fire: 2, sv disease 1, sv cold 1, sv magic 8, sv poison 1
ie the stats changed to be the same as the plate version + 1 extra point in wis/int and 1 extra point in str and dex each to make it better for the extra classes that can use it ie SHM/RNG/ROG
The whole line of items looks pretty much the same way as the above example btw and Im sure my suggestion for change could be applied over the board.
