Dealing With the Snobolds COI

It says in the wiki that there is a known bug that it stays in your journal even after it is complete.
I finished turning in 60 snow kobold ears and Branral Iceforge told me thats the last of em.
I never got a notification that quest was updated or completed. What gives? It took me forever to get those ears.
 
I don't know why the bug was never corrected, but you get faction XP for every turn in. The faction XP you receive is the only thing that actually matters here, the change in status from active to complete only keeps your quest journal looking nice.
