DC on 56k

I was just wondering if it is possible to DC on 56k, if i turned off new models and ran old models i dont see what the problem is, they will not be zoning at the same time so i thought it may be possible but havent been on to try for awhile just planning ahead a little, anyone know?

I've had no problem DC'ing on a 56k connection. I got screwed by the broadband gremlins... I live 3 miles from my state's capitol building, but via the magic of cable contracts at my apartment building, no highspeed cable available. And I'm 400 feet too far to get DSL..... /rant off

In any case, your zoning is gonna slow down a bit, and you'll get some packet loss now and then, but overall DC'ing is pretty easy even with a craptacular connection like 56k.

I just want to point out that your internet connection is unrelated to what models you are using... that is a client-side graphics issue, mostly related to video card, cpu and ram. So if your computer can handle it, you can turn on models and it won't matter at all that you're only on a 56k connection. Conversely, even if you are on a super fast connection, if your computer sucks and you turn on models, then gameplay will be slow/choppy (low fps).

DC'ing on a 56k connection, you will most likely have higher ping times than the typical broadband user and your connection might get bogged down during times of high activity (e.g. raids). For the most part I think you should be fine... except for chasing after runners, which is annoying enough even on a fast connection... so just make sure to snare or root. :p

Ack, just saw the triple post, I was getting a server error, said the post failed... sorry about that. :brow:
