Damage Shields

Quick question for everyone...

Got my damage shield for my mage last night and noticed something...err...rather didn't notice something. When I cast the shield on myself and I get hit, I see the damage from the shield hit whatever hit me. "An uber_mob_00 gets hit by damage shield for 6 points" or whatever it says. However, when I cast it on my pet and he gets hit, I don't see the same message.

Just wondering if damage shields are working properly for pets or am I missing a chat filter somewhere?

You only get damage shield reports if you are the one getting hit. It should be working fine on your pet.
 
Also, the damage shields do work on pets, rest assured. :)

I've let my pet tank three mobs after agroing one more than the others. As I watch the ones not getting hit I see their health slowly drop
