Enchanters are great for getting groups on the grind up to 65 and whatnot, as you're likely to find groups that need cc (stands true for bards as well). Once you get to 65 and get a couple hundred aa's and real gear, you might find it hard to get into really good exp groups, as cc isn't as necessary, but you can circumvent this problem by getting into a guild (also not terribly hard as an enc) and getting guild groups. Though if you play the class well and charm pretty well without getting groups/yourself killed you can still put out a good chunk of dps in groups, the main reason their not needed is they're generally just not considered great dps. That said, there are a couple high end zones where chanters or bards are an asset to have for the cc. Just don't get into aoe groups as a chanter or you'll feel totally useless and hate life

.
I have less first hand experience on bards, but generally a good bard can be comparable to an enc as far as cc goes, and they have a lot of other utility that makes them useful to have including good dps (at least high end, I don't remember where they fell on dps on the middle tiers).
As far as rerolling to a new class, maining a cleric would definitely get you groups, and if you're semi intelligent, a guild with no problem. Druid/Sham can suffice as healers, and both have much more solo ability than a cleric, though they do have a pretty decent gap while lvling where they don't get another heal for a while, which is a big pain to push past. Any straight dps class will always get you groups because every group takes at least a couple. If I were you, I'd stick with the bard/enc until 65, and decide which you like playing more, then put all your plat towards gearing that character. The only thing I should really note is while both bard and enc might have a problem farming plat while they're undergeared, a geared enchanter will still always have problems farming plat efficiently. A geared bard can farm plat with no problem. And by geared, I mean high end raid gear. Anyways, gl.
