current target dying/disappearing while casting spell

okay, this is a really annoying bug that has been around forever. I will use two examples:

1) Dzillon has Vartenaal targeted, Dzillon clicks athica neck and does nothing else - just waits the 30 sec, keeping Vart targetted. During that time, Vart zones out/dies/ports out etc before Dz's port clicky finishes. Then when Dz's athica neck goes off - he will have no target since Vart is gone - the spell will be interrupted.

2) On a fight called Blazewind there are mobs that one group all kill together, including me, and if I start group healing while the mob is alive & I am meleeing it and the mob dies while I still had it targeted my group heal will be interrupted. I have to press F1 before casting group heal.

There's many more examples, but it basically boils down to, if you have something targetted, cast a spell, and that entity no longer exists in zone when your cast finishes, the spell gets interrupted. It can be worked around by hitting F1 or in some other way changing your target before the entity disappears, but this is a really annoying and strange bug.
 
I knew it was annoying when clicking a gate neck, but knowing it does that for heals sucks bad. Hoping there's a fix for it (if not now, then in 2.5/3.0)
 
Before we bang our heads against a wall trying to find out why this happens, can someone from 2.5 Alpha try it out and see if it still exists there?
 
After some more testing, it seems this bug only occurs when the targeted entity is completely removed from the zone - ie a player zoning out (if they just DIED and left a corpse the spell would go off), or - most importantly - a mob that does not leave behind a corpse, or if it's looted quickly & made to depop before the spell lands. Hope this helps, Woldaff, and I appreciate the response.
