This is not meant to be a flame or to cause any discord for the players and admin of Shards of Dalaya. However I am just curious and would like to ask a question:

As far as I can tell, this is an Everquest emulated game like Winter's Roar was. Some time ago, the people who were running Winter's Roar were served a cease and desist warning from SOE and that caused Winter's Roar to be shut down. Now the question I have is whats to prevent SOE from doing the same thing to Shards of Dalaya. I am asking this question because I am contemplating trying this game myself but I don't really want to spend alot of time building up a character on this game to see all the work I put into a character to get flushed down the toilet if SOE puts out a cease and desist warning for this game and then having this game shut down. I mean is there something the administrators of this game have that can prevent that from happening?

Yeah you are right, i meant to type in Winter's Roar. I went back to edit my post but its all listed as Winter's Roar though in edit. For some reason when I submitted my post it changed all the Winter's Roar references to Shards of Dalaya.

But the point of my post is what's to keep SOE from coming by and telling the admins of SoD to cease and desist like they told Winter's Roar. What I'm trying to say is if I do start playing here and put in alot of time working a character up and SOE comes along and shuts this one down I'll have wasted time building up a character just to basically not be able to play anymore because of SOE.
 
The all custom content perhaps? We all paid for the CDs, and god they were expensive. I have boughten a full 3 sets. I do not think that using the materials we paid for is at all illegal. The content is completely unique to SoD is another part of it. Heck, there are emus of EQ2, UO, WoW and tons of others. Only reason that SoE was chasing is that some fool posted things he shouldn't have where he shouldn't have. (as far as I understand it)

Then again, I am not privy to any deeper knowledge and this is all rumor/heresay that has floated to me ears.

So in summary, this is not the same marklar as the old marklar though all in all it is similar marklar. The original marklar will leave this marklar alone, at least all the marklars here hope so.

The Company, and Shards of Dalaya, confuse the shit out of me.

This whole post confuses me.

I am confused.
