Creating a Bard, seeking some advice

Stonewalljack

Dalayan Elder
I played on live up until Gates of Discord, and recently found out about this server. I have read a good bit of the wiki, and many posts, but I would like some advice from experienced players. I want to play a bard, and have the following questions:

Are any of the racial bonuses good for bards (other then infravision)?
Where should I put my points? (Seems stam would be best for endgame?)
Would it be more efficient to solo or duo since I can kite so well?
If it is better to duo, what would be the most efficient partner?

Thanks!

important to note that there is no "twisting" on dalaya, at least not in the button tapping/alternating sense of live. they're more like buffs.

I liked woodelf the most because of their charm/mez resistance and ally to animal racial traits.

Also I would suggest to put in all your starting points into charisma no matter what race. If you plan to raid and max out your char you will find cha to be your lowest stat late in the game.

Just fomelo the top 5 bards and see whats their lowest stat thats important for bard and put the points there (charisma most likely)

i would agree, if you cast spells = starting points into cha.
As for race, dont think it matters much.
Wood elf get the ally to animals and the nice resists to charm/mez, Humans get a nice xp bonus (5%), half elf is gets half the bonus of both without the animals. Vah racials dont look to impressive for a bard other than the atk boost at night being good early on. Don't factor the vision to much since there are a ton of illusion masks you can get.

As for a box, Druid works very well with everything, if only for the free on hand ports until you can get some gate necklaces.

It counts on how fast you want to reach higher levels. I soloed my bard to like 42 with almost no gear except for a horn and drum with relative ease by kiting. Having a druid wouldn't really help and would have definately slowed me down considerably. If you are thinking longer term though, a druid is definately a good bet for porting, buffs, and healing. If you are kiting though, which I highly recommend for not only speed, but for the plat and not having to split money or gear two characters, put all points into CHA and if there are any remaining (I don't think there were), STA.

I put all possible points into Sta. If you choose a wood elf, you will have the lowest base sta tied with High elf and dark elf enchanters (65).
Regardless of race, I would still recommend everything possible in sta and the remaining 5 in cha.
