Crazy question..

Careful of asking for race changes that dont have your class if you arent wearing alot of Race:All gear.

You can break class/race barriers with race changes. See: Felyn the iksar bard, or Foma the gnome bard, or someone made an ogre wizard or something stupid the last time there was a lotto.
 
A few years ago, there was a lotto that had a first race change as a prize, and some dude made his monk a Dwarf.
 
Last I remember, receiving a race change has no affect on equipment. Though this could have changed.
 
I would suggest waiting even if one had the amount necessary for a race change. It's been noted before in threads about race that many of the particular racial bonuses need a revamp. Various staff have agreed with this and implied that it's more a matter of time than anything. Changing now might lead one to pick a bonus at the moment that is overpowered, but in the future may not be as desirable as it once was.
 
Side note, humans and iksar have all the animations needed for a monk, but most don't exist for the other races (all the push button specials for the most part). Kinda sucks but its a fact.
