crashing

well it seems almost at random but if i repatch or swich to full screen it seems to delay it happening for a bit

crash message is somehting like eq client has crashed send error blah blah ive tryed reinstalling the patcher messing with setting just seems to delay but once crashing starts it seems to happend faster and faster each time till i repatch or something

any ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you

any help?

i found this post seems to be the exact same problem but i cant find a fix i have virus spywher scaned restored my computer repatched messed with grafix settings deleted sod patcher and all its stuff and reinstalled not sure what to do next



I've searched through the forums, and I can't seem to find an answer here.

I used to play on Winters Roar without any problems, but I'm not able to keep the game running for more than five minutes here on Dalaya.

Game crashes randomly, sometimes I can run around for a bit, but I always get the same error pop up.

I've deleted the default UI folder and repatched, didn't help.
I took off all the hi-res textures in the options even though I have 2 gigs of ram, that didn't help either.

I have no other programs running in the background, and no router/firewall or virus protection running.

any ideas?

ya thats about the only thing i havent done cus i dont have all the cds i know its 10$ but i have bought so so so many copys in the well lifetime ive played eq was avoiding that but i think that is last option so i will post back if it works or not

also my cd drives wont open lol getto is there a download i can pay for?

How much memory do you have? How old is the machine? Is it a laptop overheating?

I'm thinking you might have a hardware problem or a driver issue.

Is it using the default, unchanged, UI? I know it seems to be using the default skin files, but if you added any changes to the UI or skins, it could cause weird crashes like this too.
 
i have 1 gig stick and a 512 comp its homemade 4 5 years old sept the 1 gig stick and i use default ui

and i had my brothere come down and cheack out my drivers and made sure i updades everything right

so its prob a hardware problem then... that sucks... so..... i dont really play any othere games bbut i have had a few random restarts... very rare and i got some messages i dono what is about when i restart... i will restart and post the messages

well

well after the crash after the reinstall i went to work got off started up comp repatched loged in and seems to be workign and graphix better not sure what happend played for like 2 hours no crash tho on 2 accounts boxing looks good thanks for the help all




hu after a comp freeze it startted happaning agine odd right

after your comp froze it started happening again? Definitely sounds like an overheating issue, you may try a bottle of canned air through the case and make sure you get all your fans. If this has already been done, then its going to be kind hard to troubleshoot.

Would you mind running a dxdiag and posting the contents? Start -> Run -> Type: dxdiag -> Click Save results -> open the text file somewhere and paste the contents.

This way we can have a better understand of what we're working with.
 
ya i took comp apart and seen the heat sink of the prosseser was caked with dirt and stuff

cleaned and worked so far hopw it keeps up only tested about 2 hours agine but in sure that has to be it
 
About the crashing .. my comp began to crash and then blue screen ....(yeah pissed me off) but anyone it turned out to be bad file

Ahhh. Yeah that would definitely do it.

You're so lucky your chip didn't get fried from that and damaging the rest of your system.

Good job on finding it.
