Crashing on Zoning as of late

I have been 2 boxing ever since I started. I am on a cable connection and my comp is pretty new, 2 gigs ram, etc and I have always been able to box really fast and both my chars zone faster than most peoples first do. As of a few days ago I have noticed my zoning times have increased by 10 -15 seconds easily, if they zone @ all. About 70% of the time 1 of my clients will freeze now, causing me to alt - f4 and log back in. Then, in the case of last night of when I died I crashed, I would have to try to get rezzed back in where I would crash again. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

WORKAROUND

Yea it seems they "allow" you to play 2 characters from the same account using EQW,
even though it is buggy as hell.

Just based on what I have personally seen while playing, and grouping, 25% of the players
2 box or dual-client. It may be that all of you do it. It may be that only 4 people out of 400 do it.
I'm just saying based on what I have seen...

Playing 2 characters on the same account at the same time using 2 different computers, or
playing 2 characters on the same account at the same time using 1 computer in conjunction with EQWindows,
just doesn't work for some people.

What happens is after days, weeks or months of dealing with numerous crashes, some whacky people finally
decide the only way to get around all the zoning bugs, lockups, gamma being washed out, etc., is to
create multiple accounts, one account for each character.

The extremists have 10 accounts with 1 toon on each account.
Email addresses are free and easy to get.
IP's can be masked.

I'm not giving advice or telling you to go against policy, just throwing this out there to let you know why
there aren't hundreds of people complaining...

they just find "a way around the problem".

Cheers,

I use 2 different accounts. UI should have nothign to do with it because I have tested the problem on both my computers. I am zoning way slower than ever before, when I hit a zoneline, I don't get a zoning message for about 5 seconds, then its takeing 2 - 3 times longer to zone, most of the time I crash. I just found out this isn't even when I am 2 boxing either. I just had only my war online and he didn't crash but it took him about 3 - 4 times longer while zoning.
Anything else you need from me let me know and thanks for help again

?

So you're playing 1 character on a 1 account on 1 computer, and
another character on a different account on a 2nd computer ?

Try to just "not zone at the same time".

Zone one toon, wait a minute, zone the other.

Problem with that is when you get a group port from a Druid or a Wizard.

But give it a shot.

Also... If you're not already doing it (you didn't mention it)
run EQPlayNice right before you startup SoD and let it run in the background.

some people seem to fare better when they have two separate eq folders, one for each account. if you have the diskspace for it it's worth a shot.
