Crashes, freezes, LDs...

You may have noticed I'm more active in the technical support section than before. Of course my patcher still doesn't work, but I guess it's not that a big deal since I'm regularily using PatchFiles direct download and downloading the spells_us.txt or something - correct me if I'm wrong, cause it could be the reason to many other problems.
First I got a 2800+, GF4200, 1gb ram, DSL shared connetion (Netgear router, never been a problem for EQ), EQPN, EQW 2.35a, regular UI, I often dual client on separate hard drives (not partitions)...and no setting changed since preSoD nor since SoD, except the Datarate I changed from 8 to 7 or 9 without any benefit. It worked very well, but I noticed several matters that I didn't expercience before-I think- september 16th patch :

-Client crashes are the most annoying, they happen often, not only when I dual client, and for no reason (sometimes I'm running, last time I was opening a bag when in front of the second client, sometimes nothing..) ;

-Freezes is the newest, happened twice so far : once in Oggok, as soon as I opened the ingame map, the game began to slow down like crazy and I couldnt do anything without a delay of like 5 seconds-it wasn"t lag, more like huge slowdown- I thought the map was the problem because when I managed to close it the game ran ok again, and when I opened it again the game definitely froze and eventually crashed. But I also had the problem 10mn ago, when I just gated into Newport, without opening the map or anything, I couldn't write normally, and it led to crash client eventually. And last time I was in NP, it was during the Prophet event 12 hours ago, with lots of people in the zone and no slowdown whatsoever.

-LD's, or more often huge packet loss, of course happen often, at least more often than before, mainly when I dual client, and it hits one client only. But I think this is here to stay, I'm not the only one.

Just wanted to share my recent problems, if more people have noticed similar weird things maybe we could find a common source and solve one or more matters.
Thanks by advance

OK fake alert on some points I guess :s
First after a thorough memtest it seems one of my ram I changed prior to SoD has just a bit of something wrong, which is enough to cause most problems. Sorry to have bothered everyone for this, I'll think twice next time before posting pointlessly.
Second, I made the patcher work by putting it into a directory DIFFERENT from EQ and pointing to the game folder (for people interested , it's like I put it in c:\patcher and the game itself in c:\everquest) ; I was sure it was supposed to be in the EQ directory, I may have read wrong, sorry for the many posts about it that could have been solved quickly. Nevertheless I don't understand why I can't put it in EQ directory just like the pre-.net version of the patcher...but nevermind.
I now guess that LDs shouldn't happen more often than usual when I will have made the appropriate changes to my settings. Thanks to the people who took time trying to help me.

if you wan tto put it in your eq directory, just make a separate folder for it such as "c:\everquest\patcher\" this is how i have it, and it runs fine, while at the same time having the patcher located within my EQ folder
