crashes and says the client was droped

i have all the versions that are manditory and i havnt played yet. i have all the patches up to date.

i log on and go to create my charector so i can play and the game crashes on me and says the client was droped

I get that on occasion, but I haven't of late. LD'ng seems to be somewhat common to some people. Not sure what to tell you, I'd try repatching or closing other background applications.

everquest closes and it says " everquest has detected that your client may have been droped"

That sounds more like a networking error. Not sure of the login servers host name or IP, but you might try finding out and running a tracert to see if you're experience packet loss somewhere.
