Crash when loading Athica?

I zone into Athica from the Mansion of Portals and the game crashes. All I get is a message telling me ********* thinks my client crashed and asks if I want to report it to the staff.

I've zoned to Athica from there before, and I've played the game problem-free for quite a while. I don't know what could be causing it. Anyone care to venture a guess?
 
I had the same problem 3 times today trying to zone in. Finally I just closed out the game and repatched all. After that I didn't have the problem again.

Give that a try to see if it helps.
 
okay, thanks. I'll try that and I'll update you if it works or not.

edit. okay, the "Repatch All" option is checked, I ran twice, still no luck. Athica crashes my client. Any ideas?

Maybe your Athica file is corrupt. Delete it from your directory then repatch all. If that doesn't work I really don't know what to tell you.

If nothing else make a newbie toon that starts in a different zone and petition to have your toon moved out of Athica.

It really does sound like your zone file got corrupted somehow.
 
The Athica zone file is not kept on our patcher. I would highly recommend not deleting it unless you have a source for another.
 
hmmm. i could just get it from a friend who also has shards. where is the zone file located, assuming i installed EQ in the proper directory, etc.
 
It should be in the main game folder, but remember it won't be called athica. It will be called felwith.
