Crash on Load/ Zone

Hi, In the past week, the client has "frozen - failed to complete" loading when
1) loading a character from the char-select screen
The char select screen changes to the splash screen, and *eventually times out returning me to the server select screen and showing a 1017 message, suggesting to repatch.

2) when zoning. - same as above*

Things I have tried to fix this.
delete files.txt and repatch
delete eqw.ini and repatch
delete eqclient.ini and repatch
delete eqclient.ini,files.txt and eqw.ini and repatch
comibinations of above and repatch

download the large patch and apply manually, delete files.txt and repatch all
change ui, delete all of the above + character related inis and repatch
changed settings for models, resolution, lighting, mip-mapping sound etc etc, - eventually, everything is off, and still not working.

rebooted router, rebooted switch, checked network cables etc. (not that i think its network hardware related as the other game is just fine and SoD has been fine up until about 1 week ago).

copied the whole eqdir and sod dirs from my laptop to my main pc, (its far more reliable on the laptop but still chucks occasionally), still fails.

I guess this starts to narrow it down to pc hardware.

Radeon 9800, latest drivers.
Soundblaster live 5.1 (game sound off btw)
directx 10? [dxdiag to follow - I'm at work]
win XP sp2

Have I missed a real basic step, or does anyone have anything at all I can try next.

dbg.txt - Patch (sodpatcher), login, click to select server, this fails and I get a 1017 error.

DBG.txt - after SoD[patcher.exe, advanced, re-patch all, log in, server select, character select screen, select character, select, click to enter world.

This time I get the splash screen for a while, then shoved back to the server select, NO errors visble.

You're overreacting. Let it fix itself, this is a server issue. It happens all the time to players, new or old. It has nothing to do with your Game directory or any files within it.

By the way Directx10 isn't even out yet. The latest is 9.
 
Try disconnecting yourself from the internet, renew and refresh your IP. It might work, it's a random guess though.
 
I also cannot connect anymore.. I had some beers, still nothing. I went to the vendor to get more beer. I bought 24 and I have now 8 left and still connot connect. Any help is appreciated as Im running out of beer quickly!
