Couple of bane questions

Browsed the various bane item threads already started to get a grasp on bane damage and bane enhancement items and cannot seem to find a general rule for calculating damage, if it exists somewhere I apologize.

Lets say someone has a bane enhancement IV item with a bane dmg undead +3, or if one just has a bane dmg +3 without the bane enhancement - what type of damage increase should one expect? Also do bane enhancement items work only for spells or for melee damage as well? Thank you for your time!

well for melee bane add about 1% melee damage per point of bane to that type and bane enhancment adds 10% per rank to that so 1% with bane 5 should be 1.5% extra melee damage per point....

for spells it add the damage and with BE who knows!!!! only the hamsters that power our game time!

From what I understand, bane enhancement only affects spells and not melee. It increases the damage of bane spells (undead/elemental nukes) by 5% per rank. I'm not sure anyone knows the formula for bane on melee damage except for the staff, and I think these numbers might still be in flux as they balance the new changes.

Thank you for the replies. A couple more questions about the bounty bane augments. Will multiple banes of the same type stack on the same weapon, eg 2 +8 humanoid bane aug's on a hammer? Also, would a primary and secondary hammer with humanoid bane stack, or does only the primary count?

As I understand it highest bane damage from only ONE ITEM counts.
So yes, putting the same aug 3 times in the same weapon still makes sense.
And no,dual wielding 2 weapons with the same bane damage augs would do you no good.
(That was changed a few weeks ago, before bane damage from different slots stacked)

This is from the Wednseday March 6th post:

Our solution is thus: instead of Bane forever stacking with itself, now only the highest Bane level being worn in a non weapon slot will be counted. This means if you are wearing a Dragon Bane 2 belt, and a Dragon Bane 4 mask, your bane for Dragon will be 4 plus any bane you have in your primary or secondary.

So you can have an additional item bane, plus the bane on a weapon? Eg, +8humanoid on belt, 2 - 8+ humanoid on a hammer = 32 bane total?

Bane on your weapon is directly added into that weapon's ratio, and does not affect any other weapons you have. Bane on an item mysteriously adds damage to all of your attacks, regardless of the weapon. Having it actually on the weapon is usually a much larger increase in damage, from what I gather. So yes, you can have a +8 humanoid belt and a +8 humanoid hammer, and they will both be counted, but they won't actually have equivalent effects.
