Corpse lock loot

Can we make corpse lock up the loot for only 30 sec or so? Cause at raid it can be annoying waiting for a corpse to open up to check loot. And can we make rezed corpse automatically disappear or reduce the timer to 30 second or so?

both idees are great, in my opinion.
the corpse lock could be completly removed if you ask me, since looting corpses you were not suposed to loot is just not right according to the playnice policy i would say. I think it is like kill stealing and training on purpose.

I was told that the original intent was so that the looting could work across linked groups and that the fact that it is not is a bug. This was on the buglist but seems to have disappeared...

I completely agree that this is a pain in the arse on raids. Not being able to assign an ML, people being left behind because they are waiting to get their loot, finding the right person to loot and link... not a huge deal but quite irritating.

Personally, if it's one of those things that will take a while to implement or is just on the way back burner, I'd rather scrap it and go back to the old way until this issue is resolved.

What about a new command, the individual or group may #unlockcorpse after they have looted it and are aware of who gets what, or even more indepth #unlockcorpse Playername so only the person allowed to loot can loot? I dunno anything about the programming aspects of my idea, but that's my idea. :brow:

The reason it is not working across linked groups right now is that it would require much more CPU processing resources, ultimately resulting in a increase in lag and zone hangs and whatnot. Until something can be worked out to get it to work without severe processor slowdowns, it'll be implemented. Until then, only 1 group gets the rights to loot. You may say it's not necessary due to playnice policies, but it's a lot less hassle to have this than to drag a GM into it for someone who ninjaloots something that doesn't belong to them.
