Constant Crashing and Freezing

Hey all, I recently put together a new computer and have been having problems with SOD. The game works beautifully for a few minutes but then freezes my screen and crashes my computer to the point of reset, regardless of zone. I have not seen any threads about this particular problem and was hoping someone might be able to help me out.

I have already reinstalled and repatched SOD and reinstalled .net Framework 1.1. I see that I also have .net Framework 2.0 service pack and .net Framework 3.0 on here, could that be an issue?

out of curiosity, does any other game crash randomly after a short period?

if its not specific to SoD, you may have bad ram sticks.

So far all my other games work quite well, including Bioshock and Crysis, so I do not think that could be the problem. But thank you for the reply!
