Confused

I copied my everquest folder to a new spot. I DLed the patch .exe. I DLed the patch files.

1. Does it matter where I run the patcher from? What do I point the patcher to when I run it? The sticky thread says to point it to eqgame, but the patcher will only show Folders, not executables? Where should Mumble end up, I guess, and does that matter?

2. Why is the patch files nested within var, www, patch2, eq? Is it correct that the eq folder is really supposed to be the Everquest folder?

3. The most I have gotten Mumble to DL has been ~3.5Mb. How long ought this to take? I've tried 5-6 times now I think.

I remember trying to get this working about a year ago, and gave up. Giving it another try now.

Well, my router rebooted while DLing Mumble, and the patcher decided to skip it and moved on to maps. So it's working.

Then I restarted it again later, and Mumble completely DLed at 2.25Mb? Is that correct? Much more confused on that now. BTW, if you google Mumble.exe you get a pageful of virus/trojan/spyware links.

Anyhow, I guess it is functioning. So, disregard...

I have my patcher in my S0ny folder, one step up from the everquest directory ("C:\Program Files (x86)\S0ny\sodpatcher.exe"). Don't know if it matters, that is just where I have had it for years.

This is what it says in the Everquest Directory box on my patcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\S0ny\EverQuest.

Hope that helps a bit. The rest I haven't a clue about, I'm not really a techy, and I've never bothered to try Mumble.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking Mumble.exe finally got DLed all the way now (just under 10Mb). Working on maps. Up to the E's :lol

Yes, mumble is around 10m. It doesn't matter where you run the patcher from. You point the patcher at the directory you have the game installed in. You point eqw (if you run it) to eqgame.exe.
